What does human behavior have to do with growth? Everything, in my opinion.
I've always been fascinated by people: what motivates us, how we make decisions, what we value, and why we behave the way we do. The longer I've worked in growth, the more convinced I've become that the best growth strategies start with understanding people.
Growth doesn't happen at one point in the customer journey. It happens in the hundreds of decisions that shape someone's experience with a company: what you build, how you talk about it, what you charge, how you sell it, the experience you deliver, and whether any of it is compelling enough for someone to choose you in the first place.
That's why I've never thought of growth solely as a marketing function. To me, growth is a company-wide responsibility. It sits at the intersection of the customer, the product, the team, the business model, and the decisions that shape where a company goes next.
For 18 years, I've built, grown, and scaled businesses across consumer brands, tech, digital health, and membership-based communities. The common thread has been businesses where the customer experience drives growth, and the customer relationship doesn't end with the first purchase.
How I lead is just as important to me as what I build. I lead by listening, and I believe good ideas come from many voices. Bringing different perspectives into the conversation doesn't just make for a more inclusive team; it leads to better ideas and stronger decisions.
I want the people I work with to feel trusted and ready to lead, not waiting for permission or looking to me for every answer. My job is to give people the context and space to do what they're great at, while making decisions with care and purpose when the call is mine to make.
And at the end of the day, I really love making things with people. Brainstorming an idea, rolling up my sleeves, bringing different strengths together, and watching something that started as a conversation become real. That's still one of my favorite parts of what I do.
